Head to the thriving downtown region to shop in an array of boutiques and enjoy great flavor at one of the raved-about restaurants. Enter the local Troy University campus to walk around the attractive central quad and see many historic landmarks.

Another Troy location that features beautiful landscaping and a lovely scenic environment is Pike County Lake. This newly restored park offers a day of family fun, with boating and fishing in the 45 acres of water. If you’d rather stay on dry ground, there are plenty of spots to spread a blanket and set up a picnic.

Look at the Past

An intriguing view of the region’s historic past is the perfect way to experience and appreciate present-day Troy, AL. We encourage you to visit the Pioneer Museum of Alabama – where 35 acres of history are on display. Explore historic buildings, an original locomotive from 1881, and over 18,000 artifacts that give a glimpse into how the pioneers lived.

Attractions include antique furniture, old farming equipment, a covered bridge, log houses, and a one-room schoolhouse on the grounds. Afterwards, wander through the nearby Pioneer Shopping Village and Flea Market – where you’ll have a truly unique shopping experience browsing collectibles for sale in log cabin stores.
